Why Aegir?

Installation
- Requires a dedicated server (no shared hosting)
- Does not play well with other CPanel/Plesk/etc
- Install on many OS's well supported and documented
- Debian (Ubuntu) install as simple as
apt-get install aegir

- Master Aegir admin site
- Controls:
- Servers: manage other Web (Apache/Nginx) or DB
- Platforms: collection of Drupal core and contrib modules
- Sites: instances of platforms
Key site management features
- Importing existing sites
- Creating a site is as easy as creating a new node
- Core/module update are very simple (and auto rollback if failure detected)
- Automatic backup of site db and files locally and off server
- Clone sites to test new development
